Keeping Our Clients Informed – TPB Compliance Statement

Last updated: [July 2025]

At Howells Chartered Accountants, we pride ourselves on transparency, professionalism, and compliance with the regulatory obligations set out by the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA) and the Code of Professional Conduct, administered by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).

This page outlines how we meet our obligations to keep you informed, your rights as a client of a registered tax agent, and where to access more information.

Our Obligation to Keep You Informed

As a registered tax agent, we are legally required to notify our clients if certain significant events occur which may impact our ability to lawfully provide tax agent services. These “reportable events” include (but are not limited to):

  • Suspension or termination of our tax agent registration

  • Becoming bankrupt or entering external administration

  • Conviction for a serious taxation offence or other prescribed offences

  • Being subject to disciplinary sanctions by another regulatory or professional body

  • Ceasing to meet the ongoing eligibility requirements for registration

We have a duty to inform you promptly if any of these events occur and to provide guidance on how they may affect your dealings with us.

No Reportable Events

We confirm that there are currently no reportable events relating to Howells Chartered Accountants. Our tax agent registration remains active and in good standing with the TPB, and we continue to meet all professional, ethical and legal requirements.
